UCP/CLASS has advocated for people with disabilities since its founding in 1951, supporting and empowering individuals with disabilities and families who have children or members with disabilities, including, but not limited to, physical, emotional, and intellectual disabilities. UCP/CLASS currently offers supports and services to over 4,000 individuals and families which include: community living for adults in supervised residences; attendant care; skills training classes for adults; job development and placement; Elks Home Visiting Nurse; information and referral; intensive short-term case management; education, advocacy, and mutual support for families of young children; training for school districts; accessible meeting space for community events organizations; tax preparation and benefits applications for low income workers; disability awareness training and ADA compliance consultation; life care plans and expert opinions for catastrophic loss legal cases.
